Help Using Library Resources

The resources in the library provide information that can help you with your legal problem. To locate the most helpful resource, you can either type a word or phrase related to your problem into the search box on the home page or you can browse through the topics in the library.

Each top level topic may have one or more subtopics. When you click on a topic, you will see a shaded box towards the top of the page that indicates your position within the list of topics. You can use this area to return to a higher level topic or to the top of the library.

Beneath that, you will see a list of subtopics. Each subtopic is indicated with a folder icon -

Beneath the list of subfolders (if there are any) you will see a list of resources. Resources may appear in one of several formats, which are indicated with different icons, as follows:

- indicates a PDF file. This will be displayed in the Adobe Acrobat Reader plug-in. If you do not have the plug-in, you can obtain it at no cost at the Adobe Web site.

- indicates a web page on this site.

- indicates a link to an external site.

- indicates a Microsoft Word (TM) file. If you are using a relatively up-to-date version of Internet Explorer, this will be displayed in your browser. If you are not using Internet Explorer, your particular browser configuration will determine how this file is treated.
